The PTA executive meetings will be held at 7:00 pm in the Ellicott Mills Middle School Media Center on the third Tuesday of the month. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Interested in serving on the Executive Board?

PTA is a great way to be an active participant in your child's education, and there is no better way to be involve with PTA than to serve on the Executive Board. We would love to have you join our wonderful group of dedicated volunteers!

Not sure what each Executive Board member does? See the PTA Bylaws or the following description of duties.

President

  • Preside at all PTA planning meetings
  • Coordinate the work of the officers and committees
  • Provide help to committees, if needed
  • Review bank statements monthly and cosign all checks
  • Represent the local PTA at all council meetings or send an alternate.

  • Act as aide to the president

    • Treasurer

  • Assist the budget committee in developing the budget
  • Manage the PTA funds by balancing the PTA checkbook
  • Provide a financial report at the monthly PTA planning meetings
  • Receive and deposit all PTA funds in the PTA bank account
  • Disburse PTA funds in accordance with the approved budget
  • Keep accurate records
  • Prepare the PTA tax forms
  • Keep up-to-date on nonprofit financial issues from PTA Council
  • Treasurer's guidelines

  • Aid the president in all PTA correspondences
    • Recording Secretary
  • Record the minutes of all PTA planning meetings
  • File all records and keep a current copy of the bylaws
